Setting up and using barcodes in SmartWMS

Barcode Management
Barcodes are essential for fast, accurate warehouse operations. SmartWMS supports all major barcode formats.
Supported Barcode Formats

Barcode Prefixes
Configure barcode prefixes to identify different item types:
- Go to Configuration → Barcodes
- Click + New Prefix
- Configure:

Setting Product Barcodes
Manual Entry:- Open product
- Enter barcode in Barcode field
- Save
- Open product
- Click barcode field
- Scan existing barcode
- Save
Generating Barcodes
For internal products without barcodes:
- Open product
- Click Generate Barcode
- Select format (Code 128 recommended)
- System creates unique barcode
Printing Barcode Labels
Single Product:- Open product
- Click Print Label
- Select label template
- Select multiple products
- Click Print Labels
- Choose template and printer
- Print batch
Label Templates
Configure label layouts:

Scanning in Operations
Receiving:- Scan product barcode to identify item
- Scan location barcode for putaway
- Scan location to confirm position
- Scan product to verify pick
- Scan each item into package
- Scan package barcode to close
Troubleshooting
"Barcode Not Found"- Verify barcode exists in system
- Check for typos in barcode
- Ensure proper prefix configuration
- Check print quality
- Adjust scanner settings
- Try different angle/distance
- Each barcode must be unique
- Use different prefix for internal codes
- Check for data entry errors
