Slotting Optimization
Slotting analyzes your inventory movement data and recommends optimal product placements to minimize picker travel time.
ABC Analysis
SmartWMS classifies products using ABC analysis based on order frequency:
| Class | Criteria | Recommended Location |

| A | Top 20% by movement | Premium locations (fast-pick zone) |
|---|---|---|
| B | Middle 30% | Mid-distance locations |
| C | Bottom 50% | Bulk storage, high shelves |
Running Slotting Analysis
- Go to Inventory → Slotting
- Click Run Analysis — system evaluates last 90 days of movements
- Review recommendations by ABC class
- Click Apply on individual items or Apply All for bulk updates
Slotting Score Factors
- Velocity — how often the item is picked
- Volume — physical size of the item
- Weight — affects ergonomics and pick speed
- Current location — distance from dispatch area
Manual Override
You can override slotting suggestions at any time by manually assigning a product to a specific location in Inventory → Products → Stock Locations.
